History
​

In the year of 1924 a group of brothers petitioned to the late Most Worshipful Grand Master Charles A. Fauntleroy to organize a Lodge.  The name chosen was St. John, in honor of the patron saints of masonry (St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist). On October 10, 1924 their request was granted and St. John Lodge was chartered. The first principal officers were: Bro. Lewis R. Fowlkes as Worshipful Master, Bro. John W. Williams as Senior Warden and Bro. Amos Moore as Junior Warden.
