History
Queen of Sheba Court #2 Ancient Arabic Order Daughters of Sphinx was organized on September 28, 1981, after Queen of Sheba Court #1 became too large. The first Most Worthy Grand Matron, Shirley F. Thornton, set up and organized the court. The late Harmon Bobbitt was the Illustrious Patron. Queen of Sheba Court #2, plays an important part in the makeup of Hiram Grand Lodge and Naomi Grand Chapter. After advancing from the Eastern Star degree, a Sister has to obtain the status of Queen of the South, Amaranth, Heroines of Jericho and ladies of Knights Templar before she can become a Daughter of Sphinx.
Daughter Shirley Thornton made the Court proud when she was elected Supreme Most Worthy Grand Matron. Daughter Jeannie Williams was elected as Supreme Most Worthy 2nd Vice Grand Matron, a position she still holds today. Daughter Edna Jones held the position of Supreme Recorder for several years. Other Daughters have been appointed to Supreme committees as well. If the Supreme re-institutes the drill competition in 2014, prayerfully our award winning team will be participating once again.
