The length of time it takes to pass through the first three degrees of Masonry depends on how well and how quickly the candidate retains information. Proficiency is mandatory before a candidate can progress to the next degree.
Will I Have To Dedicate A Lot Of My Time?
There is no "required" obligation of time. After your initiation, you may attend as your time permits. However, the more you participate and become involved, the more you will receive and be able to contribute to the Fraternity.
Can A Woman Become A Mason?
Regular Freemasonry remains exclusive for men. While women cannot join regular lodges, there are many female orders associated with regular Freemasonry and its appendant bodies, such as the Order of the Eastern Star which has their own rituals and traditions that are founded on Masonic principles.

Freemasonry is not a secret society however, it is a society with secrets. Secret societies are underground and hard to find. Information about Freemasonry can be easily found on many websites. However, like many social organizations, there is information that is specific for members of that society which includes the means of identifying each other. Additionally, like other social organizations, only members are allowed in closed meetings.
